TRAVERSE CITY PHOTOGRAPHER
Hello!
I’m Lina LaVonne Robertson
I’ve been a Traverse City Photographer for 16 years, but you can easily find personal accounts and photos of me with a camera in hand dating back to my preteens.
Like many photographers, I still remember my first camera. It was a digital point-and-shoot my parents gave me for Christmas in 2006.
Meanwhile, as i grew, my interests and aspirations changed – as they naturally do – but my camera was always glued to me.
I wanted to be an architect, then a graphic designer, then a teacher…but not a photographer. Not because I didn’t value it, but because I loved it so much that it felt impossible that it could also be my job.
Turns out, it is perfectly legal, and I am so glad it is.
Now, two decades later, I have celebrated alongside hundreds of wonderful people, explored countless styles of photography, and am doing what I love most.

MY INSPIRATION
Beauty is reflected in life itself and in the way God’s presence is embedded in everything around us.
It appears when light filters through the leaves, in a simple glance, in the warm glow of a fireplace, and in the honest emotions that make each story unique.
Family and wedding photography (and videography) allow me to capture these reflections. They preserve the truth and beauty of your life, in a way that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

MY APPROACH
The beauty of life is that it’s unfiltered and unscripted. In all my years of being a family photographer and wedding photographer, nothing has ever gone exactly to plan.
And, it may sound odd, but I’m all the more grateful for that.
When I pick up my camera, my goal is to capture moments as they naturally unfold with minimal interference.
Your life, your wedding, your family- they are completely unique and shouldn’t blend in with anyone else’s.
I’m here to be the quiet observer, showing you your day and your people exactly as they were.

MY STYLE
I capture life as it naturally unfolds, blending candid photojournalism with an artistic eye for light, composition, and emotion. My family photography and wedding photography focuses on the authentic moments. Moments like the quiet glances, the joyful laughter, the subtle details. The details that tell the story of your day or your family in a way that feels real and timeless.
My aim is to create imagery that is emotive, elegant, and full of soul. Therefore reflecting both the beauty of the world around us and the depth of your personal story.
My love for romantic lighting and true to life coloring displays your life in a true way- but with a storybook flare.
