Kellie + Zachary | General Store Wedding
East Jordan Wedding Photography
Kellie and Zachary’s summer wedding at The Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix in East Jordan was a true Northern Michigan wedding story. The day started with heavy rain, but it never dampened their excitement. They stayed positive, laughed through the weather, and focused on what mattered most: getting married. By the time their outdoor ceremony began, the rain cleared and Lake Charlevoix gave them a beautiful backdrop.
The Boathouse is a wonderful venue for couples who want both scenery and convenience. One of the biggest benefits is the close by Airbnb accommodations. Kellie and her bridal party got ready just steps from the venue in two charming, vintage-style spaces. One was a cozy cottage and the other a restored general store filled with themed decor. The bridal party made full use of both spaces, creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere for wedding photos.
Having the cottages right next to each other made the day feel calm and unhurried. There was no need to travel between locations, which allowed everyone to stay present and enjoy the experience. And the decor made for great opportunities for extremely fun picture. That ease carried through the rest of the day, from portraits to the ceremony and celebration that followed.
As a Northern Michigan wedding photographer, I love documenting days like this. Kellie and Zachary’s Lake Charlevoix wedding proved that flexibility and joy matter far more than perfect weather. Their wedding was heartfelt, genuine, and unforgettable.
