I’ll be the first to admit this photo is six years old. Six. And yet it still lingers with me in the very best way.
This little boy is one of my favorite humans on the planet. For all intents and purposes, he’s my nephew.
His mind is a world of wonder, and I, along with so many others, would pay good money just to peek inside it for a single day. And while he’s brilliant beyond words, with countless stories and memories that could impress anyone, this moment will always be one of my favorites.
Maybe not this exact photo, but this exact gesture. From the time he first had control of his hands, he would reach up, gently grab his mom’s face, and look straight into her soul.
He could hold her there for what felt like forever, and she always let him. Years later, he still gets that same look in his eye.
