Some engagement sessions just feel effortless, and Megan and Austin’s session in Glen Haven, Michigan was exactly that.
From the moment we met, it was clear these two were completely comfortable together. They have the kind of chemistry that can’t be posed or forced. Every laugh, smile, and quiet moment happened naturally, making my job as a photographer incredibly easy. Their laid back personalities allowed the evening to unfold without any pressure, creating images that truly reflect who they are as a couple.
For their engagement session, we explored Glen Haven, one of Northern Michigan’s hidden gems. Nestled between Glen Arbor and Empire, this tiny historic lakeside village is often overlooked by visitors heading toward the Sleeping Bear Dunes. While it may be small, Glen Haven offers an incredible variety of scenery in just a short walk.
We wandered along the quiet beach as the waves rolled onto the shoreline, explored the historic buildings that give the town so much character, and made our way toward the rolling sand dunes that lead up to the breathtaking Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The soft evening light paired perfectly with the natural beauty of the area, creating a timeless backdrop without ever feeling crowded or busy.
Megan and Austin embraced every part of the evening. Whether they were walking hand in hand along the shoreline, laughing together in the sand, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, every moment reflected the contentment of this season of their lives.
If you’re planning an engagement session in Northern Michigan and are looking for a location that combines history, beautiful beaches, towering dunes, and a relaxed atmosphere, Glen Haven is definitely worth considering. Sometimes the smallest places create the biggest memories.
